But allergies could have long-term, and even fatal health consequences. Increase There is a worldwide increase in allergies. There is a rise in incidence of allergies in Nepal too. They range from allergic colds, chest asthma, allergic eye conjunctivitis and skin eczema etc. Then there are food allergies, allergies to the environment and so on. Cold allergies in Nepal alone have gone up to 5 per cent. Allergies start when the body reacts to a particular substance. Pollen can set it off; dander from pets is a major problem. House dust creates awful allergies, especially mites from carpets and woolen toys, curtains and mattresses.
